LUDOVIKA UNIVERSITY OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Special course within the CEEPUS Network

The Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS) hosted eight students from North Macedonia's St. Kliment Ohridski University and Babeș-Bolyai University between December 1 and 8.

The visit was part of the "Central European Exchange Program for University Studies" and the "Law Enforcement and Psychology" course, aimed at fostering international mobility and professional development.

During the course, the Macedonian students participated in lectures and practical sessions on a wide range of topics. Lt. Col. Miklós Tihanyi emphasized the importance of religion in inmate reintegration, while Department Head Csaba Zágon delivered exciting and informative lectures on the EU's policies against organized crime and EUROPOL's role. Col. Imre Dobák discussed the significance of security awareness, and Maj. Szabolcs Mátyás explored the connections within the geography of crime. Under the guidance of Capt. Gábor Bélai and Maj. András Rucska, the students learned both the theoretical and practical aspects of documenting and analyzing crime scenes. Lt. Col. Béla Árpás delivered a lecture on the special tools used in homicide investigations. Ferenc Petruska focused on the legal aspects of armed conflicts and military occupations, emphasizing the challenges posed by international law.

In addition to the lectures, the students, accompanied by staff members, visited the Police Museum, where they gained insights into fascinating aspects of law enforcement history and memorable events.

The clinical psychology MA students from the Babeș-Bolyai University Applied Psychology Institute attended specially designed lectures introducing them to psychodiagnostic and psychotherapeutic methodologies, which are vital for their daily clinical practice. The theoretical training was complemented by practical sessions hosted at the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute.

The programs organized by the CEEPUS network continue to play a crucial role in strengthening international relations and promoting Central European cooperation. Special thanks are extended to the university and Faculty of Law Enforcement staff, as well as to Ferenc Fekete, Medical Director of the Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute, and Dr. Pálma Benedek, Head Physician of the Sleep Diagnostics and Therapeutic Laboratory, for their support and contributions to the success of the program.
