For the second time this year, staff members of our university's International Office organized the Erasmus+ Info Day event on September 15 in the Educational Center. In connection with the autumn Erasmus+ application period, the event provides support to interested staff members and students through organized lectures and all-day consultation opportunities.
During the autumn application period, Erasmus+ applications can be submitted until 2:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2026, via the Erasmus+ Application Portal.
Erasmus+ Info Day was opened by Martina Jankovics, Head of the LUPS International Mobility Department, who, in addition to welcoming the attending guests, encouraged participation in the program and the submission of Erasmus+ applications. Eszter Sándor-Sugár, staff member of the International Mobility Department and central LUPS staff Erasmus+ coordinator, delivered a detailed presentation on the steps of submitting applications and provided useful advice to interested participants to facilitate the application process.
Following this, Panna Ványi, Head of International Office, presented international credit mobility opportunities, emphasizing that through the Erasmus+ program, students and staff of the University can access not only European Union member states, but also the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, China, India, and South Africa, among others. During the afternoon, the programs continued with the student section, where Ákos Kripkó, staff member of the International Mobility Department and central student Erasmus+ coordinator of the university, gave a presentation titled "The Diverse World of Student Mobility Opportunities."
Afterward, as part of student experience reports, students who had previously participated in Erasmus+ mobility shared their personal experiences and impressions, further inspiring and encouraging students to apply. In addition to the presentations, personal consultation opportunities with staff members of the International Office and colleagues from the faculties' International Offices were available throughout the day, during which they shared advice through personalized counseling to help promote successful applications.
The Erasmus program was originally launched by the European Communities (a predecessor organization of the European Union) in 1987, with the goal of supporting student mobility and intercultural cooperation. The program bears the name of Erasmus of Rotterdam, who was a committed advocate of education and the importance of international knowledge exchange. Erasmus+ provides opportunities for studying and gaining experience abroad—both within and outside Europe—not only for university students, but also for academic teaching staff and administrative support staff. In addition to skill development, its goal is to increase students' labor market prospects and strengthen cooperation between educational systems.
