As of July 16, 2026, Colonel Gábor Boldizsár serves as the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at our university.
In Colonel Boldizsár, we welcome a familiar colleague back to the position of Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs: he played an integral role in the founding of the Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS) as the Dean of the Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training. Between 2012 and 2016, he focused heavily on enhancing the prestige and standards of military officer training, as well as integrating the faculty into the then newly established LUPS.
He has participated in numerous foreign peacekeeping missions and is a registered UN instructor. Following his most recent and third deployment in Afghanistan, he served as the Head of the Department of Education, Science Management, and Culture at the Ministry of Defence from 2020 to 2022. Over the past four years, he gained valuable experience in the United States while on assignment for the Ministry of Defence. Throughout this time, he remained closely connected to our university, continuing his duties as an Associate Professor alongside all his roles, which resulted in several of his doctoral students successfully earning their academic degrees.
This year, backed by 40 years of military service, he assumes his role as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. Colonel Gábor Boldizsár succeeds Major General László Kovács, who will continue his service as the Deputy State Secretary for Digitalization and Cyber Defence at the Ministry of Defence as of June 2026.
