LUDOVIKA UNIVERSITY OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Romanian Cadets Join Aviation Training in Szolnok

The Szolnok Campus of the Ludovika University of Public Service Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training is currently hosting three Romanian students under the Erasmus+ mobility programme. The cadets, who study at the Henri Coandă Air Force Academy, have enrolled in fourteen courses, eight of which are delivered directly by the three departments of the Institute of Military Aviation in Szolnok.

As part of the Aviation Module, the students gain comprehensive knowledge of airport infrastructure, aviation safety, and modern air traffic management systems. The curriculum also covers the application of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems, aviation-specific English terminology, and professional communication skills. Throughout the programme, the cadets have extensive access to the campus’s advanced training facilities, including the ZLIN and 3DTWR flight simulators.

A key element of the training is participation in laboratory sessions involving virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) technologies. Students also contribute to the scientific activities of the Drone Laboratory, where they gain insight into the research and development of unmanned aerial systems, autonomous technologies, and advanced sensor solutions.

Particular emphasis is placed on aviation safety, risk management, and the operation of contemporary air transportation systems. Simulator-based and laboratory training enable students to apply theoretical knowledge in realistic operational environments while exploring the aviation applications of cutting-edge digital technologies.

As part of their professional development, the cadets acquire both the theoretical foundations and practical competencies required for drone operations. Their proficiency is demonstrated through the successful completion of flight missions. The programme places special emphasis on flight planning, safe operational procedures, and the practical application of aviation regulations.

The Erasmus+ cooperation plays an important role in strengthening the professional partnership between the University of Public Service and the Henri Coandă Air Force Academy. By promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise, it supports the international education of future aviation professionals while enhancing research collaboration and expanding international higher education partnerships.
