On June 18, representatives of the Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS) and Montclair State University (MSU) in the United States signed a Memorandum of Understanding at LUPS.
The agreement, signed by Rectors Gergely Deli and Jonathan GS Koppell, aims to establish long-term educational and scientific relations between the two institutions. Both MSU—one of the leading public universities in the state of New Jersey—and LUPS are committed to serving the public good, and they support student and faculty mobility, knowledge exchange, and the promotion of joint research and training initiatives.
Under the agreement, the institutions will provide opportunities for the exchange of students, faculty members, researchers, and academic staff; share publications, academic materials, and datasets; and promote the exchange of professional experience. Additional goals include the joint preparation of scientific project proposals, the launch of academic programs and educational initiatives such as undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs, continuing education, and international online learning opportunities. Specific activities will be set out in separate agreements, detailing responsibilities, timelines, and financial arrangements.
This agreement was preceded by visits: Professors Tony Spanakos and Zsolt Nyíri from MSU visited LUPS' Ludovika Campus, while in February 2025, Brigadier General Dr László Christián, Vice-Rector for Education at LUPS, paid an official visit to MSU, where he delivered a lecture and held discussions with Rector Jonathan GS Koppell.
This collaboration represents a significant step in strengthening LUPS' American and international relations, contributing to the professional development of both academic communities and opening new avenues for scientific cooperation.
