Anxiety about AI is understandable. These tools raise urgent questions about learning, authorship, ethics, and responsibility—and simply banning them has proven ineffective. Students are already using AI, often without guidance or transparency. This webinar reframes the conversation around AI from one of fear or enforcement to one of intentional teaching. Rather than asking whether AI belongs in writing instruction, we will examine how educators can respond when AI is already part of students’ composing practices. Should we look away while students use these tools inefficiently and invisibly, or should we help them learn to use AI in ways that support thinking, revision, and ethical authorship? |
