In our opening session of the 2026 "How to Do Research & Get Published" webinar series, we aim to shine a spotlight on the student experience, addressing the unique challenges and questions that emerging scholars have surrounding the publication process. This webinar offers practical guidance for faculty and mentors on how to help students navigate the often-complex journey of academic publishing. Topics include selecting the right journal, preparing manuscripts, understanding peer review, and managing revisions, all with a focus on empowering student authors. Additionally, we will cover how dissertations and theses can be incorporated into the publishing landscape, offering strategies for turning these substantial works into impactful publications. The session will provide tailored resources and support to help students gain confidence and agency as they embark on their academic publishing journeys.
