Military Balance+ database training

A trainer from the International Institute for Strategic Studies will give an online presentation to NKE researchers on how to use the Military Balance+ database. This defense database, which is also available at our university, allows users to access, search, and analyze reliable defense data from 170 countries, providing insight into their military capabilities and political priorities.

Participants in the training will learn about the following options:

  • access to data sets on armed forces and types of equipment in the land, maritime, and space sectors;
  • analysis of macroeconomic statistics and global defense budget data, as well as defense budget forecasts for 30 countries;
  • access to and analysis of data on individual countries’ armed forces units and formations, as well as permanent bases, deployments, military exercises, and operations.
