On 17 December 2025, a delegation from Sanming University of the People’s Republic of China visited our university. The delegation was received in the Rector’s Conference Room of the main building by Dr. László Szegedi, Vice-Rector for Education, and Liliana Śmiech, Director General for International Affairs. During the meeting, Gergely Kovács, Senior Advisor at the Directorate General for International Affairs, delivered a brief presentation outlining the most important historical and geographical characteristics of Hungary, as well as the history of Ludovika University of Public Service from its foundation to the present day.
This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Gábor István Kovács, Vice-Dean for Research, who spoke about the establishment of the István Nemeskürty Faculty of Teacher Training and its core responsibilities, placing particular emphasis on the internationalization efforts of the university. Subsequently, Dr. László Balatonyi, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Water Sciences, introduced the university’s campus in Baja, highlighting key developments achieved in recent years.
The Chinese delegation underlined that, despite differences in size and economic capacity, addressing the adverse effects of climate change is a shared priority for both countries. The head of the delegation, Rector Juncheng Zhang, presented the history and organizational structure of Sanming University and outlined plans for major developments in artificial intelligence research in the coming years. He also emphasized that internationalization, particularly through student and faculty exchanges, remains a strategic objective for their institution. The leadership of our university expressed its openness to exploring future avenues of cooperation between the two institutions.
