LUDOVIKA UNIVERSITY OF PUBLIC SERVICE

#ErasmusDays at LUPS

Our university has once again joined the annually organized international celebration series #ErasmusDays, which aims to promote European values, the benefits of mobility, and the results of the Erasmus+ project. With the co-organisation of the International Office and the Student Union of LUPS, the event was held on October 15, to which foreign students - as part of the program - and the Erasmus Student Network team were invited.

In his opening speech, Bálint Koós, Vice International President of the Student Union, said that the Erasmus+ Program teaches openness, adaptability, and self-confidence. This was followed by two students presenting their Erasmus experiences.

Fakhriyya Mammedzada came from Azerbaijan, earned her bachelor’s degree in Turkey, and first visited Budapest in 2014 through the Erasmus+ Program. In her presentation, she showed how her Budapest Erasmus+ experience shaped her professional and personal path—from student mobility to holding a scholarship internship position. She reported that the city’s architecture and tranquility immediately gave her a feeling of home, and she spoke about the interactive, discussion-based nature of the university courses and the dormitory life where she made many friendships. She said that during her travels, her problem-solving and patience skills improved. “Erasmus+ is not just travel, but also learning, budget management, homesickness, and loneliness, which one must face,” she added.

Máté Palatin presented his experiences gained in Rome through a carefully structured “ideal Erasmus day.” In his presentation, he emphasized that during his time there, he gained valuable travel experiences while discovering different places. He talked about the Italian lifestyle, and the university life was inspiring for him.

After the student reports, the participants formed teams, and the competition called Erasmus Day Quiz could begin. Its main topic was the European Union, and participants had to demonstrate their knowledge about its values, history, and member countries.

The #ErasmusDays is an annually organized international celebration series launched in 2017 by the French National Erasmus+ Agency to promote European values, the benefits of mobility, and the results of the Erasmus+ project. Through this initiative, the strength of the community is demonstrated across five continents, in cities and rural areas alike.

In 2025, the #ErasmusDays were held worldwide from October 13 to 18, with a total of 5,670 events registered in 67 countries on the occasion of the ninth anniversary. The highlighted theme of this year’s program series was the values of the European Union, and the slogan was:
#ErasmusDays 2025: live our values, inspire our future!
With this motto, the organizers aim to strengthen young people’s European identity and future commitment. Participants of the Erasmus+ program turned these six days into an event that showcases European values and experiences and brings together students, teachers, parents, associations, local elected representatives, and members of the press.
