LUDOVIKA UNIVERSITY OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Four Countries, Four Distinguished Guest Lecturers – The Ludovika Scholars Program Continues

The Ludovika Scholars Program is set to return with four esteemed guest lecturers from Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Turkey. Scheduled for October 13–17, 2025, the program will once again highlight the University’s role as a center of international academic exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. Each semeter, the Ludovika Scholars Program invites prominent international experts to engage with students and faculty through lectures and workshops. This year’s scholars represent diverse academic backgrounds and bring with them a wealth of experience that will enrich the University’s intellectual life and expand its global network.

Dr. Veljko Blagojević, Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of International Politics and Economics in Belgrade, Serbia, will share his extensive knowledge in defence diplomacy, foreign and security policy, and strategic studies. A former defence attaché to North Macedonia, Dr. Blagojević brings valuable practical experience to his sessions.

Prof. Miloš Šolaja, a political scientist and expert in international relations and security policy from the University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, will also join the program. He is the founding director of one of the country’s first think tanks—the Centre for International Relations—and was a correspondent for Reuters London for 14 years.

Dr. Nargiz Hajiyeva, Director of the Organization of Scientific Activities Unit at Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Baku, will present her work on water diplomacy, green diplomacy, and regional water conflict resolution. Her lectures promise to provide timely and interdisciplinary perspectives for those interested in water science and environmental policy.

Dr. Gökhan Yazici, associate professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, specialises in disaster management, particularly in earthquake resilience and structural engineering. He will offer first-hand insights into Turkish earthquake responses from the perspective of field professionals.

The Ludovika Scholars Program, now being held for the 11th time, continues to grow in scope and impact, offering university members the opportunity to engage in high-level academic discourse and gain global perspectives across a wide range of topics.
