International Leaders Meeting of Regional Police Academies held at the Faculty of Law Enforcement

From September 3 to 5, 2025, the Faculty of Law Enforcement at Ludovika University of Public Service successfully hosted a prestigious regional gathering of police academy leaders, marking a significant advancement in the faculty's international collaboration.

This event saw participation from leaders of law enforcement higher education institutions across Central and Southeastern Europe, including police academies from Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Serbia, and North Macedonia. The meeting served as a platform to strengthen relationships among regional institutions, exchange best practices, and establish the groundwork for future collaborative projects. Throughout the three-day program, attendees gained insights into the educational framework of the Ludovika University of Public Service, toured the National Police Headquarters and the Ministry of the Interior, and participated in sightseeing excursions to explore Budapest's rich cultural heritage.

A standout moment of the event was the gala dinner held on September 3 at the esteemed Kakas Restaurant, where professional dialogues commenced in a warm and congenial setting. The successful organization and execution of the event were ensured by the dedicated leadership of the Faculty of Law Enforcement: Major General Gábor Kovács, PhD, the Dean, and Dr Tibor Kiss, the Vice Dean for Academic and International Affairs, were instrumental in the meeting's success. Particular recognition should be given to the diligent and meticulous efforts of the Department for Academic and International Affairs, which served as a crucial foundation for the meeting's organization. The department's team—Head of Department Dr Csaba Zágon, Lieutenant Zsolt Andrékó, Senior Referent Andrea Meisami-Horánszki, and Senior Referent Veronika Máté—worked tirelessly behind the scenes, playing a vital role in ensuring that every aspect was executed smoothly and professionally.

The event's highlight occurred on the final day: the signing of a letter of intent, which officially established the commitment of the participating police academies to collaborate in the future in the fields of research, education, and experience sharing. The feedback received was overwhelmingly positive: the international partners highly valued the exceptional level of organization, the professional depth of the event, and the warm hospitality extended by the Faculty of Law Enforcement. This meeting will be remembered by participants as a rewarding experience, both professionally and personally.

The leadership of the Faculty of Law Enforcement reflects with pride on this large-scale and successful event, marking yet another significant milestone in the journey of international law enforcement collaboration.
