In the spirit of strengthening international cooperation, a delegation from the Lithuanian Mykolas Romeris University was hosted at the Faculty of Law Enforcement (FLE) of the Ludovika University of Public Service (LUPS) on 14 May.
The three-member delegation consisting of Professor Violeta Vasiliauskiené and Professor Anželika Banevičienė, led by Dean Mantas Bileisis, met with Lieutenant Colonel Tibor Kiss, Vice-Dean of the FLE for Academic and International Affairs, and Veronika Máté, Senior Desk Officer for International Affairs. First Lieutenant Viktória Kuszik, representative of the Counter-Terrorism Department of the FLE LUPS took part in welcoming the delegation at the university.
The meeting focused on further strengthening cooperation between the two institutions, with special emphasis on exchange visits of teachers and students in the field of education and research. The participants stressed that the expansion of mobility programmes would provide an opportunity for international exchange of experience, building professional links and sharing research results.
The meeting also focused on joint participation in international grant projects, with a particular emphasis on EU research programmes. The parties agreed to publish the results of their joint research in international journals of Q category, thus enhancing the scientific recognition and visibility of both universities. The representatives of the LUPS invited the faculty and researchers of the Mykolo Romerio University to the upcoming IV Ludovika International Law Enforcement Research Symposium (LILERS), one of the most prominent professional forums for law enforcement research. The scientific symposium will provide an opportunity for academics and researchers to present their latest findings, establish new professional contacts and discuss further collaborations.
During the course of the discussions, both parties agreed to hold regular consultations in the future regarding faculty and student exchanges, joint research projects, and international grant programs, with special attention to the international dissemination of research results to increase visibility and promote joint publications. The meeting concluded in a constructive atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening cooperation. LUPS FLE remains dedicated to expanding its international network, thereby supporting the global advancement of law enforcement science research and education.
