The Ludovika University of Public Service made a significant international appearance at the MEDays Forum 2024, held in Tangier, Morocco. Representing the university, Liliana Śmiech, Director General for International Affairs, and Bátor Tietze, Senior Advisor, took part in the prestigious event, which brought together high-level academics, diplomats, and political leaders from around the globe.
Ms. Śmiech actively participated in two pivotal panel discussions during the forum. The first addressed energy security, exploring the challenges and opportunities of ensuring a sustainable energy supply amidst an increasingly volatile global environment. In this context, Ms. Śmiech emphasized the critical need for prioritizing "cooperation over confrontation."
The second panel focused on geopolitical issues and the evolving dynamics of the global order. Here, she provided valuable insights into Europe’s strategic role, underscoring the importance of fostering international collaboration over advocating for decoupling strategies.Beyond the panels, the Ludovika delegation engaged in discussions with prominent figures, including experts, politicans and diplomats.
Ludovika’s diverse faculties—including military, law enforcement, and water management—stand to benefit greatly from partnerships with African institutes. These collaborations offer invaluable opportunities to gain firsthand knowledge and insights from institutions that face unique challenges and develop innovative solutions in these fields. Partnering with African experts can help the university’s students and faculty expand their expertise in areas such as conflict resolution, community policing, and sustainable water management.
