The Ludovika University of Public Service has made significant strides in strengthening its international network with a prominent visit in November. A delegation from the university traveled to Paris with the aim to foster academic and professional collaborations in the fields of international relations, security policy, and strategic studies.
In Paris, the delegation, led by Liliana Śmiech, Director General for International Affairs, and including Bátor Tietze, Senior Advisor, and Katalin Puskás, Advisor, engaged in a series of high-profile professional events and meetings. The highlight of their visit was participation in a panel discussion organized by the Institut Éthique et Politique, which centered on “European Energy Sovereignty: Challenges and Opportunities.”
As a featured panelist, Ms. Śmiech addressed the complexities of the European energy market, emphasizing the importance of strategic resilience in the face of global energy uncertainties. Other prominent participants, including Alexandre Stopnicki, Régis Passerieux, and Ludovic Trolle, provided valuable insights into the geopolitical and economic aspects of energy sovereignty and the role of AI in the future of energy policy.
Diplomatic engagements underscored the visit’s importance. A meeting with György Habsburg, Hungary’s Ambassador to France, opened avenues for potential academic collaborations between Hungarian and French institutions. His advices and connections with French academic institutions can help our university expand its academic network and collaborations in France. Additionally, discussions with the Fondation pour la Recherche Stratégique highlighted opportunities for collaborative research in international security policy, fostering potential partnerships in this critical field.
The delegation also focused on military and strategic discourse, holding key discussions with Colonel Vincent Samson, Head of Department at the École de Guerre, and Colonel Jacques Hogard, a distinguished expert of the French Army. These meetings offered valuable perspectives on French military education and its relevance to Ludovika’s military training programs.
Rounding off the Paris visit, a meeting with Alexandre Del Valle, a noted geopolitical expert and professor, highlighted the importance of building strong academic networks. Del Valle’s expertise and connections in the field of geopolitics provide a unique opportunity for Ludovika to expand its collaborations with leading French academics and institutions. Such partnerships are pivotal in strengthening the university’s research capabilities and fostering a deeper understanding of global security dynamics.
The visit to Paris represent a significant milestone in Ludovika University of Public Service’s mission to enhance its global presence. By forging new alliances and engaging in high-level discussions, the university has positioned itself as a hub for cutting-edge research and training in public service and international affairs.
These initiatives not only reinforce Ludovika’s commitment to excellence but also underscore its role as a dynamic participant in addressing the pressing global challenges of today.
