Strengthening Ties with Korea

Last Friday, the Directorate General for International Affairs had the pleasure of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND). Established in 2018 under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure & Transport of Korea, KIND is a dynamic governmental investor dedicated to driving forward infrastructure and urban development projects on a global scale.

During our engaging and highly productive discussions, we explored various avenues for potential cooperation, particularly focusing on overseas internship opportunities for Hungarian students. This initiative aims to provide valuable international experience to our young talents, fostering their professional growth and enhancing their global competitiveness. Additionally, we delved into broader strategies for strengthening Hungarian-Korean relations, recognizing the mutual benefits that such collaborations can bring to both nations.

This year holds special significance as it marks the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Hungary and Korea. This milestone adds an extra layer of importance to our meeting, highlighting the enduring friendship and cooperation between our countries. Reflecting on the past 35 years, we are reminded of the robust and multifaceted partnership that has developed, encompassing various sectors including trade, culture, education, and technology.

Looking ahead, we are filled with excitement and optimism about the opportunities that lie before us. The dialogue with KIND has laid a solid foundation for what promises to be a series of impactful projects and initiatives. These endeavors will not only benefit our respective countries but also contribute to global infrastructure and urban development goals. We remain committed to transforming these discussions into tangible outcomes and are eager to share more updates as our collaborative efforts progress. The partnership with KIND exemplifies our dedication to fostering international cooperation and creating opportunities that drive growth and development.
