LUDOVIKA UNIVERSITY OF PUBLIC SERVICE

Polish expertise visiting Ludovika-UPS

Lieutenant-Colonel Grzegorz Waszkiewicz, lecturer at the Warsaw Military Technical University, was a guest of the Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training between October 03 and November 25, 2022 as part of the Ludovika Fellowship Program. During his stay he helped with both education and research activities with his experience and expertise.

Our guest gave lectures on economics and defence economics at BSc, MSc and PhD levels. In this way, the 1st year students of the Military Info communications Bachelor's degree program and the 2nd, 3rd- and 4th-year army officer candidates of the Military Logistics Bachelor's degree program, and 1st-year students of the Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering, and officers studying Master's programs in Military Operations and Military Operations Logistics, and 2nd-year doctoral students of the Doctoral School of Military Sciences could listen to presentations on the topics of economic definition of national defence, its financing background, the development of European defence spending and its deeper statistical analysis - always adjusted to the knowledge level of the given training level.

The lieutenant colonel also got involved in the scientific work going on at the faculty, the results of which can already be seen directly in the joint article that will be published in the near future. However, the cooperation and joint work does not stop with the end of the program, but is expected to continue uninterrupted, as our guest managed to establish a very good relationship with the host Department of Supply, Finance and Military Transportation. That is why the stay of our Polish teaching colleague is a very good example of the long-term positive effects of the Ludovika Fellowship and similar programs and applications for both the host and the sending institution.
