The European Law Institute (ELI) held its annual conference in Madrid from 5-8 September 2022. The event was a good opportunity for a face-to-face meeting of individual and institutional members. The University of Public Service has been an institutional member of the Vienna-based institute for several years, while the lecturers of the European Public and Private Law Department are actively involved in the work of the Hungarian member organisation. Accordingly, Katalin Gombos (Head of Department) together with two lecturers (Endre Orbán and László Szegedi) participated in the annual conference, met the President of the ELI (Pascal Pichonnaz) and followed diverse panels on current topics of the European law such as the Mount Scopus European Standards of Judicial Independence, Fundamental Constitutional Principles, Climate Justice, Ecocide or Third Party Funding of Litigation.
