LUDOVIKA UNIVERSITY OF PUBLIC SERVICE

New Databases at Ludovika

The Central Library and Archives of the University provides the university community with access to the online literature needed for education and research in accordance with internationally expected standards, and in line with the institution’s strategic objectives. By accessing international journals, e-books and databases, the library also contributes to increasing the international visibility of Ludovika. This year, the existing database portfolio will expand significantly, so 10 new journal packages and databases will be available to all university citizens, in line with digital education, accessible even from home. The services include the world's leading publishers (Taylor & Francis, IEEE, De Gruyter, Brill), thematic services (JSTOR Security Studies, Statistics, World Politics Review, MathSciNet), as well as Hungarian-language e-book databases (Szent István Társulat, Kossuth Publishing).

Taylor & Francis is one of the world’s five largest scientific publishers, publishing internationally recognized journals in all disciplines. In 2021, Ludovika will have access to the publisher's nearly 2,300 social science, engineering and science journals online. With this opportunity, the University's Central Library and Archives also ensure that the staff of the University has access to a literature base of international standards during their research. The database "Statista" summarizes available global and regional statistics from thousands of sources in the fields of society, economy, demography, environment, media, culture. As part of the service, country reports, regional analyses, financial data and infographics are also available to the university community.  Tables, graphs, and diagrams created from documented sources on each topic can be easily and quickly exported and included in slide shows or conference presentations. Tables and compilations can also be a good help for preparing articles and seminar papers. More details on statistical compilations.
