Nothing is true and everything is possible in the Middle East," as it was said at a roundtable discussion of the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy this Monday. The theme of the Foreign Affairs Club program was the relationship between the Middle East and Israel. Invited experts analysed the Shiite-Sunni situation, the threat of demographic imbalances, and the domestic, regional, and global aspects of transformation in the Middle East. At the event, Professor Miklós Maróth spoke about the obsolescence of the principles enshrined in the Medina Constitution, while Professor Erzsébet Nagyné Rózsa highlighted the power games in the region. László Csicsmann, Associate Professor, spoke about the situation of the Palestinians. Following the presentations, participants were able to ask questions from the members of the panel discussion, and the experts, responding to each other, too expressed their views on sectarian, social, political, military and economic issues.
