International Teaching Week

 

The National University of Public Service has been successfully participating in the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility program since 2015. The program aims at connecting universities in the European Union with universities outside the EU to provide opportunities for academic cooperation.

For the International Teaching Week participants have arrived from Russia (Lomonosov Moscow State University and RANEPA, Saint Petersburg), Azerbaijan (ADA University) and South Africa (University of the Free State) and gave lectures to students at the Faculty of Science of Public Governance and Administration. Besides the lectures, the professors also participated in two workshop events where they shared their knowledge and expertise with interested NUPS Professors and students.

The „Multicultural Crossborder Cooperation” workshops were organized on November 28th and 30th, 2018 in order to provide networking and cooperation opportunities for visiting professors, NUPS professors and students. Prof. Dr. Norbert Kis, Dean at the Faculty of Science of Public Governance and Administration was honoured to welcome the guests, emphasizing the importance of the cooperation with the partner universities and expressed his hope to further extend the cooperation including academic research with all participating partners. The presentation topics attracted a large audience with presentations on Fuzzy Modelling, Investment in Russia, Behavioural Economics and Decision Theory Application in Public Administration, Dutch Disease, Geopolitics of Conflicts in the South Caucasus, The Use of Social Network Analysis in Public Administration, Public Sector Reform Agendas in Russia, Information Management and Communication Systems, South-South International Migration Flows, Integrating Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change Adaptation and the Environment. Each presentation triggered heated discussion among the audience.

The International Teaching Week event was organized by the Faculty of Science of Public Governance and Administration and the International Relations Office within the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility program. Participants expressed their satisfaction with NUPS facilities and the organization of the program and will return home with pleasant memories and numerous academic benefits.
