International Teaching Week at the Faculty of Science of Public Governance and Administration

The schedule of the week started on 25 February 2018 with the first part of the Multicultural Crossborder Cooperation workshop, the second part of which was held on 7 March in the new Educational Building of NUPS. As part of the workshop, the Russian and Kazakh guests introduced their respective institutions briefly, and then detailed the research topics they are currently working on. Alya Tankibayeva, from KIMEP University in Kazakhstan presented about the possibilities of cooperation platforms in public administration. Alma Kudebayeva, also coming from KIMEP University, showcased the relation between the rising prices of oil, and the satisfaction of Kazakh oil industry workers. Ekatyerina Batovrina, coming from the Faculty of Public Administration of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, shared her expertise on the research methods of Russian public management. She presented about Russian public servant regulations and career path models as well. Naturally, all workshops were also followed by a discussions on best practices by the participants.

The presentations of the Chinese guests were held in the second part of the workshop on 7 March, in Room 510 of the new Educational Building. Jiman Wang, from Minzu University held a lecture about the bilingual education of minorities in China, and Yuehong Xu presented about intercultural management as part of the Chinese governments “One Belt, One Road” strategy. Jiong He, from the East China University of Political Science and Law, showed the audience the Chinese take on the challenges of international intellectual rights too. Finally, it was the turn of Yu Peng, to hold a lecture in the topic of international trade and investment. As with the first day of the events, a discussion also followed each presentation, where all the participants got to learn more about certain questions of interest.
