Ernő Fináczy Educational Research Centre
The Ernő Fináczy Educational Research Centre operates as part of the István Nemeskürty Faculty of Teacher Training at the Ludovika University of Public Service. Our mission is to conduct scientifically grounded, practically applicable research for teacher education and public education, and to promote the continuous development and innovation of teaching. For us, the teaching profession is not only about imparting knowledge but also about supporting and nurturing the value-based, holistic development of young people.
At the core of our principles is the belief that education is the key to the nation’s future. We hold that teachers do not merely convey knowledge but also shape the character, worldview, and sense of identity of young people. Among our core values are patriotism, the cultivation of a strong national and community identity, and the provision of high-quality education that gives every child the opportunity to develop their abilities. We are committed to supporting the professional development of teachers because we know that their preparedness and dedication have a long-term positive impact on society, and thus excellent teachers are essential in Hungarian schools.
Our research, publications, and professional programs aim to support the work of teachers and school communities, helping young people to grow into harmoniously developing, balanced individuals. We are convinced that children’s best interests can only be served when families and schools work closely together, and when educational values are upheld over the long term through the efforts of teachers, schools, and societal awareness.
The scientific research and activities of our Centre serve these goals by supporting the development of Hungarian public education in a value- and knowledge-based manner, offering inspiring and practical solutions to teachers, teacher trainees, parents, and students alike. Through our work, we contribute to the continuous and competitive development of Hungarian education, while remaining committed to preserving our cultural heritage and national values, and representing our professional work both domestically and internationally.
