Head of Department: Col. Andrea Pap, PhD, Associate Professor

Colonel Andrea Pap graduated in financial economics from the János Bolyai Military Technical College in 1999. She began her career with the 93rd “Vitéz” László Háry Composite Aviation Squadron as head of food supply and services. In 2001 and 2006, she graduated in economics from the University of Pécs (first in business administration with a specialization in marketing, and later in business administration with a specialization in corporate finance and accounting). In 2002, she joined the János Bolyai Military Technical College as an instructor. In 2014, she obtained her PhD degree. She has held various teaching positions at the János Bolyai Military Technical Faculty of the Miklós Zrínyi National Defense University, as well as at the Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training of the University of Public Service. She has more than twenty years of teaching experience and more than ten years of leadership experience in military higher education.

Her research areas include: budgetary management and analysis

About the Department

The mission of the Department is to train cadets, incorporating decades of professional culture and tradition in military, financial, and military transportation training as well as economic and defense economics education. The highly qualified and experienced lecturers’ staff meets the quality expectations of higher education. The department is composed of disciplined, hard-working academics who strive for the best possible personal interaction with cadets. In addition to the BSc and MSc teaching activities, the department's lecturers also announce topics in logistics, military transportation, military finance, and defense economics in the Doctoral Programs of the Doctoral School of Military Sciences and Military Engineering.

The department is as old as the modern military higher education and responsible for 3 out of 4 specializations of the Military Logistics BSc studies.

We are proud of our longstanding international relationship with our Czech and Austrian partner institutions. For over two decades, our students have been involved in international training program, such as FOURLOG, organized jointly with partner institutions. Thanks to our international relationships, our cadets are continuously involved in the ERASMUS program. In addition, there is a mutual  teaching and staff mobility of lecturers and researchers with foreign departments in similar fields of training.
