Department of Law Enforcement Management Theory
The Department of Law Enforcement Management Theory is responsible for teaching management and organizational theory and conducting the research that underpins it. The lecturers of the department are well-trained practical and theoretical specialists (chief police officers, generals) who strive to enable students in the field of political science training to be able to deal with the management and organizational theory challenges effectively, also endowed with knowledge corresponding to modern requirements.
The acquisition of these requirements is significantly facilitated by the acquisition of knowledge, thorough theory and practice covered by the subject of Management and Organizational Theory and the subjects taught by the related department.
The department participates in the teaching of management theory subjects in undergraduate, Master's and doctoral programs, which is supplemented by special programs.
In the undergraduate program, students are introduced to the main moments and functions of the leadership process and the main principles of leadership. Using the results of management and organization theory, we provide an overview of the peculiarities of the operation of organizations and the specifics of law enforcement leadership. Our goal is to transfer and systematize the knowledge needed to perform managerial tasks, to establish a managerial approach and application skills.
In the master's program, in the educational process, we strive to deepen, in its scientific context, at a higher level of leadership, the leadership problems and solutions that students may have encountered during the undergraduate program. By expanding the state-of-the-art results and methods of management and organization theory, we expand students’ knowledge.
The department is responsible for the master's degree program in law enforcement, in which, in addition to general training, students have the opportunity to choose from five specializations (law enforcement theory, team service, evaluation-analysis, anti-organized crime, border management).
The department implements the teaching of management and organization theory subjects taught in doctoral training with a scientific need. Doctoral candidates will be introduced to modern trends in leadership theory that will allow in-depth scientific research work on the topic.
The lecturers of the department take part in teaching foreign students Management Theory in English within the framework of Erasmus training.
