Department of Corrections

The training at the Department of Corrections began in 1972, when further education was available for those officers who already worked in the correctional system. At that time and since then, one of the great challenges and tasks of the professional staff at the Department is to form the expectations and attitudes related to the profession of corrections officers when entering as students from their former position as sergeants. The Department of Corrections has been operating as a specialization of law enforcement administration since 2012. The aim is to train corrections officers who are capable of performing leading and managerial tasks in the institutes / institutions of the correctional organization, know the principles, procedures and tools used in law enforcement administration, can fully identify with the expectations of the organisation and have sufficient in-depth theoretical knowledge to continue the education in the second cycle.
