Re-opening of the Orczy Park

The biggest green area of the downtown of Budapest is now reborn. After finishing the rehabilitation work at the Orczy Park, the public can re-occupy the 26 hectares of landscaped park, including an expanding playground, a renewable lake, a lakeside café, open air conditioning machines, running and sports courts, washbasins and drinking fountains.

On the occasion of the public park's opening on Saturday, 7th April, a free family festival is waiting for visitors the whole day, providing numerous colorful programs for children and adults. In addition to children’s concerts, fairs, handicrafts, stage shows, quizzes and prize games as well as street food courts, there are plenty of interactive sports presentations and pampering opportunities. In addition, it is also possible to visit the Ludovika University Campus as part of organized tours, as well as the official orders of the National Civil Service. The happy picnic day is celebrated by the great concert of Viki Maróti and the Nova Kultur Orchestra. The night will be closed with a special outdoor light projection called ‘Orczy Light Park’.
