International Welcome Day 2020

International students of the Erasmus + Mobility Program have arrived for this spring semester to Ludovika – University of Public Service. Young people from 14 countries were welcomed on the International Welcome Day. The students came from Russia, Spain, France, the Czech Republic, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Poland, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Kosovo to study at our University. Klara Breuer, the international director of the institution emphasized that the Ludovika embodies the past, the present and the future. While the Ludovika Main Building represents the traditions of the old prestigious military academy, the education and the new infrastructure meet the needs of the modern age. She noted that the Erasmus+ is a very successful program of the European Union and it is an essential task for the University to broaden its international relations, the university endeavours to offer as much as possible in studies as well as in extra-curricular activities for students coming to Hungary. At the event, foreign students could gain a brief insight into the institution's faculty training system. Péter K. Zachar, International Deputy Dean, talked about the fact that the Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies has grown into the largest faculty due to changes in recent years and offers a wide range of training opportunities for domestic and international students in a wide variety of subjects and fields. Colonel Zoltán Jobbágy, International Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Military Science and Officer Training, emphasized the importance of civil-military relations and the regional and global character of the educational approach. Colonel Bence Mészáros, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law Enforcement, said the number of courses in English-language at the Faculty as well as at the University would increase in the near future. He was pleased to say that his Faculty has received more than 20 students this year, and for the first time this year, Ludovika is accepting students from Kosovo. Márton Percze, president of the European Student Network NUPS Association, emphasized that his organisation wants to be like family for the guest-students while at Ludovika.
