INFORMATION ABOUT THE RULES AND PROCEDURE OF THE OBLIGATORY INTERNSHIP

The purpose of the internship is to enable the Student to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice, to practice the professional activity in real circumstances, to gain insight into the daily work processes and to develop his / her professional communication skills.

The duration of the internship is four/six  weeks, mandatory for all students, those who don’t fulfill this requirement may not be able to take the final exam. The internship can only be started after a closed semester. The internship requirement can also be fulfilled during the term time, however, participation does not entitle anyone to be exempted from attending courses.

General rules for applying for an internship:

-       In the Neptune system the student must take the course „Internship” in the semester when he can prove his / her fulfillment.

-       The internship can only be accomplished at an organization with which the University of Public Service has a valid cooperation agreement. In the absence of this agreement, the form „Cooperation Agreement for the Implementation of Intership" (No. 2 Annex form) - completed and signed by the organization in 4 original copies- shall be sent to the officer who is responsible for the internship by the same deadline as the declaration of acceptance. The agreement, after verification and consultation, will be signed and returned to the host organization.

-       The „Declaration of Acceptance” (No. 1 Annex form) must be completed in 2 original copies by the host organization providing the internship, and sent to the person who is professionally responsible for the internship at the latest 4 weeks prior to the scheduled start of the internship. The internship can only be started with an approved declaration of acceptance.

-       If the student wishes to replace the internship with work experience, then the „Request for replacement of internship by work experience” (No. 5 Annex) form has to be filed 2 copies in and submitted to the responsible for the internship until the last day of the first week of the first semester of admission to the Internship subject. In this case the it is not necessary to fill in the Annex 1, 2, 3, 4, 6.

-       Anyone whose job is not relevant to the attended training and is not expected to be allowed by the Committee as an internship, has the opportunity to look after an internship on their own. This case the University will conclude a contract (No.3 Annex form) with the selected organisation in 2 copies, so in this case it is necessary to fill in and sign the other forms. (Annex 1, 2, 3, 4, 6)

-       After completing the internship, the „Certificate and Assessment of Internship"( No. 4 Annex) form must be filed out by the host organization in 4 original copies, of which 2 copies are submitted to the officer who is responsible for the internship by the student at the latest by the last day of the first week following the term of the semester of admission to the subject of the internship. The student is obliged to keep a work log and write a report about the internship in accordance with specific content and form requirements. The work log and the report have to be handed over - together with the certificate detailed above - to the officer who is responnsible for the internship by the student at the latest by the last day of the first week following the term of the semester of admission to the subject of the internship. The signing of the traineeship is recorded by the responsible for the internship in the Neptun system (after checking the documents, work log and report submitted by the student) until the last day of the second week after the end of the term.

-    Conditions for Obtaining Credits: Obtaining a signature and a certified professional report. Assesment: According to professional report: passed, failed.
