The Association of Informatics for Society has organized the eleventh “e-Festival” contest focusing on the excellent practice in digital content development by Hungarian experts of online and multimedia profession. The National University of Public Service (NUPS) competed in the category “Education” in which it won the prizes of both 1st and 2nd places.
The announcement of the results took place at this year’s largest event focusing on informatics, the Infotér Conference at Balatonfüred on the 5th of November. The contest had more than 100 participants from the private, non-profit and public sector who were competing in 7 categories.
NUPS entered the contest with some of the lecture materials of its online further training contents that were renewed in 2014. The category “Education” included 21 competing projects out of which NUPS’ video lecture material, providing the backbone of public service further training programme, received the 1st prize, whereas the university’s “Project-management knowledge executive e-training” with animated cartoon-technique reached 2nd place.
Dr. Péter Princzinger, Head of the Institute of Executive Training and Continuing Education at NUPS reminded that the Institute developed the prize-winning lecture materials with the support of the EU but without external financing from the private sector and that they have been available for public administration officials since early summer through further training programmes. NUPS intends to continue the development of its capacities in e-learning methodology and production that could serve the e-system and e-content needs of the public sector in the shorter and longer term.
Dr. Krisztián Kádár from the Centre for E-learning Methodology at NUPS added that the relevant lecture materials and educational applications are already under development with the aim of repeating this year’s successes.
