The title was handed over to him during a ceremony by Prof. Dr. András Patyi, rector of NUPS. Dr. Cawley has been a key member in the cooperation of European public service continuing education institutions. Since 2010, he has also been a regular lecturer in the Hungarian Executive Training and Continuing Education system at the National University of Public Service and its predecessors.
The aims of the cooperation with Dr. Cawley are the development and internationalisation of executive training and continuing education. Key elements of this process are the introduction and implementation of the Anglo-Saxon administrative culture’s good practises in Hungary, developing new approaches and deepening inter-cultural relations. Furthermore, the development of Hungarian executive skills is also important in the form of English language training programmes. Via his great work at the Irish Institute of Public Administration and his wide-reaching international connections, Dr. Cawley can contribute significantly to reaching the future aims of the University and also to the improvement of the Hungarian Executive Training and Continuing Education system.
