Representatives of the two universities, Prof. Dr. Ioan-Aurel POP, Rector of Babes-Bolyai University and Dr. Norbert Kis, Vice-rector for Continuing Education and International Affairs at the National University of Public Service (NUPS) signed a bilateral agreement on cooperation on the 6th of May.
Babes-Bolyai University is one the most famous higher education institutions in Europe that ensures Hungarian line of study, including faculties and institutes operating in Hungarian language, hence the inter-institutional cooperation is highly advantageous for NUPS – emphasized Dr. Norbert Kis. According to the Vice-rector, Hungarian-Hungarian relations and the policy towards Hungarian communities abroad can benefit through the possibility of the lecturers’ mutual participation in the respective educational and research programmes and joint projects launched by the two universities. The exchange programmes enable that lecturers and students can become acquainted with the other institution’s operation and can develop their international relations as well.
Dr. Anna Soós, Vice-rector for Curriculum and Hungarian Studies at Babes-Bolyai University reminded that both institutions strive for quality and the same will determine their cooperation as well. In addition, she pointed out that Babes-Bolyai University has the highest number of Hungarian students in Romania whose studies are ensured in Hungarian language from Bachelor to PhD level. Vice-rector Soós reiterated that the possibilities for joint trainings and projects can be beneficial for both universities.
