The Rector of the University of Public Service invites applications for PhD program this year as well. The PhD training at our university represents the highest level of the linear education system divided into several cycles, and focuses mainly on training specialists. The University possesses independent accredited doctoral schools in the fields of military sciences, military engineering sciences, and public administration sciences.

73 exchange students of 21 countries will continue their studies at four faculties of the National University of Public Service (NUPS) in the spring semester. Our “new” students were heartily welcomed by Dr. Norbert Kis, Vice-Rector for Continuing Education and International Affairs.
He expressed his sincere hope that all students will be able to take this unique study opportunity. He also added: „We all are aware of the fact that challenges of our societies, the efficiency of public administration become more and more complex. That is why it is so relevant what this programme can offer to everyone through our faculties and departments: a comprehensive understanding and approaching to these challenges.”
After his welcome speech the different study programmes of the faculties were introduced by Dr. Judit Nagy, Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Law Enforcement, Dr. Gyula Vastag, Director of Institute at the Faculty of Public Administration, Prof. Dr. László Kovács, Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Military Sciences and Officer Training and by Dr. Boglárka Koller, Head of Department at the Faculty of International and European Studies. On behalf of the Students’ Union Mr. Markó Dusa also welcomed the exchange students and informed them about the student life at NUPS.
The event was attended by our professors of international modules, student mentors and colleagues dealing with international affairs.
Exchange students can continue their studies at the National University of Public Service through several scholarships such Erasmus, Stipendium Hungaricum and Good Governance.
As previous Minister for Public Administration and Justice he significantly contributed to founding, managing and developing NUPS. “His strong personal and professional support was always behind us that has enormous relevancy in the success of the last three years” - emphasized by our Rector, Prof. Dr, András Patyi who was delivering the award.
“It’s always ennobling to see when a dream comes true” – started the EU Commissioner. He noted that unifying the education of future public servants in one institution has a great impact on building interoperability in public careers. As Commissioner for Education he realized that the main goals of the European higher education such as study complexity, practice-oriented approach, internationalisation are in accordance with the main guidelines of the National University of Public Service. “I am pleased to be the formal member of your community” – he concluded.
As Minister for Public Administration and Justice he played important role in the legal preparations for founding NUPS. He was the originator on submitting law proposal which was supported by the Members of the Hungarian Parliament. He submitted all relevant additional law and regulations regarding the functioning, management structure and ownership of the university.
Good State and Magyary Programmes belong also to Mr. Navracsics’s previous portfolio. They have important role at modernizing Hungarian public administration and building interoperability in public careers. Renovating the historical Ludovika Academy (Campus-project) was strongly supported by him through the Government preparations.
